Prompts are a thing apparently. Groups on social media post themed lists of words to spark ideas and get you out of a creative hole. You go away, imagination sparked, and get creative in your chosen media and style. I’ve seen loads around and about since I’ve started following more makers groups on social media, and decided to get on board with one. Not because I need to get out of a creative slump (I have a full page of ideas to follow up on!) but more as an exercise in doing something quick, in a day and not labouring over it, before heading back to a bigger project that I have on the go.
The ‘Red Spatula’ is Day One of a seven day #prompt, where the the poster said amongst other things to ‘…look around the house for objects…’. Which is where the spatula came from – literally the kitchen.
