Peace on Earth
It’s been a pretty long year. It’s hard not to get down about all that’s going wrong all over the world, but do you know what? I’m glad that I do feel down about it. Otherwise I’d be an arsehole. Peace, people.

Motivated by the Alphabet
I’ve been following the Struthless youTube channel for a few years now. He’s a creative whose struggles with the ‘creative life’ and his means to overcome them really resonate with me. I’ve watched probably hundreds of his videos (starting with this clickbait here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6NsEDwHHiE ) He’s funny, he’s TOTALLY relatable and what he says makes…

I’m stoked to finally report that my submission for the Pressing Matters Insert #22 made it into this issue’s showcase. Wowzha. Big up to @pressingmattersmag for a drool-worthy mag and for the challenge, it’s fantastic to see so much engagement from the print community.

Going large WIP
I’ve had a large project in the back of my head for a while. It’s been brewing there while I trawled through various other projects that were much faster to execute, with more instant gratification involved. But it finally came to the front of the queue in my head two weeks ago.

Trying out #prompts
Prompts are a thing apparently. Groups on social media post themed lists of words to spark ideas and get you out of a creative hole. You go away, imagination sparked, and get creative in your chosen media and style. I’ve seen loads around and about since I’ve started following more makers groups on social media…

More pot plants: a Gollum
Loved printing this one. Doing two colours is definitely more complex, but in the scheme of things doing it this way (like a jigsaw)

Artichokes are in
Black inked, hand-pressed Artichoke prints are now in stock on my Etsy shop. I loved carving this lino and printing it is a test of how thin I can do multiple layers of ink without over-inking it and filling in the tiny details!
